This explains what customers can rightly expect from your company after they've purchased a product or service. In essence, this is a contract and it's best to put these agreements into writing. You may want to have an attorney review the document your company plans to use in order to ensure that there are no areas where there could be confusion for either the customer or the business owner. Written agreements also provide you with a certain measure of legal protection should there be a dispute in the future since the written word takes precedence over oral contracts.
A service agreement can cover issues like repairs or maintenance; the length and breadth of a warranty; and, what procedures customers should follow if service is needed. Do not be afraid of going into detail in such a document. Doing so will make clear to both merchant and customer what their respective responsibilities are.
